What is it?

Nexo is a ready-to-use handheld computer built around the Walnut Pi H618, combining an Allwinner H618 development board, a 3.5-inch color display, a KeebDeck mechanical keyboard, and a retro 3D-printed enclosure. Inspired by jd3096.

The display has a resolution of 640×480. There is no desktop environment: Nexo focuses on a lightweight Linux terminal experience for fans of uConsole, cyberdecks, handheld terminals, geek desk setups, and retro computers.

Why choose it?

Nexo brings portable AI-assisted coding and Linux command-line work into a handheld format. Use it for development assisted by Claude / IDE tools, speech-to-text input, SSH remote connections, and script debugging. It also supports installing an MS-DOS emulator to run classic DOS games, combining practical terminal use with retro play.

Its retro-computer and cyberpunk styling makes it a natural fit for a desk display, while the real mechanical keyboard offers a more substantial typing feel than ordinary small keyboards. It is suited to coding enthusiasts, AI enthusiasts, Linux users, embedded engineers, makers, technically minded users, and retro-computer hobbyists, including those drawn to uConsole-style devices, cyberdecks, and handheld Linux terminals.
